چکیده

جمعیت دانشجویی در کشور ایران از مرز 4/3 میلیون نفر گذشته است. پیش بینی می‌شود که تا پایان برنامه چهارم توسعه تعداد دانشجویان به چهار میلیون نفر افزایش یابد، اما افزایش دسترسی به آموزش‌عالی و تأکید برکمیت بدون توجه کافی به کیفیت به پیشرفت کشور کمک چندانی نخواهد کرد. هدف از ارائه این مقاله بررسی وضعیت دانشگاههای شهر تهران در عصر جهانی شدن است. یافته ها بر گرفته از نظرهای 800 نفر از دانشجویان در شش دانشگاه تهران ارائه شده است. نتایج وضعیت کنونی در شش محور تسلط علمی و فنی استادان، مناسب بودن محتوای درسی استادان، تناسب شیوه‌های تدریس، ارزیابی پیشرفت تحصیلی دانشجویان و دسترسی به منابع علمی و فضای فیزیکی را توصیف می‌کنند. در پایان، پیشنهادهایی برای بهبود کیفیت دانشگاهها در عصر چالش برانگیز جهانی شدن ارائه شده است.

چکیده [English]

Students’ population has exceeded the 3.4 millions in Iran. A 4 million student’s growth by end of Fourth Development Plan is expected. But increasing accessibility and relying on numbers without improving some qualities does not help the country in this transaction. The purpose of this study is to investigate the situation of universities in Tehran in the era of globalization. The findings represent the responses of 800 students from the six universities in Tehran. The results illuminate current situations in six areas: appropriate faculty lesson contents, faculty technical and scientific mastery, appropriate teaching methods, evaluation of students’ progress, access to scientific resources and physical atmosphere. At the end, some recommendations to improve the quality of universities in the challenging era of globalization are given.
