The Impact of Students ' Educational Objectives and Plans on Efficacy of Higher Education

As a matter of fact, students' interests and their planning tc attain future educational goals, play a crucial role in nature, quality and orientation of Higher Education. That is, the greater the students' motives and desires, the more clear they define their goals, set up their plans and pursue their needs. Present article attempts to clarify the main intentions of students in entering university by using a sample of students in the college of agriculture in Shiraz University in 1367-68/1988-9. The analysis of data obtained from a survey research on students depicts that the most important factors affecting students intention to go to college are: 1.    Acquisition of knowledge/science; 2.    Access to new techniqes, dexterities, and information useful in serving society; 3.    To enjoy economic and social privileges of college education. The results also show that students are not more clear in seting up their educational goals, not they perceive hopefully, realistically and clearly their objectives. On the other hand, students' understanding of their needs for dexterities and skills Finally, results indicates that students are not successful m drawing a direction and proposing a suggestion to improve the present situation. 
Article suggests that in order to improve the present situation the following steps have to be taken:
1.    Orientation of students, particularly directing them toward desired fields and area of interests in education;
2.    Orientation student in finding their future occupation;
3.    Paying attention to the role of students, advisers and ounsellors in guiding them to have a right choice in their areas of study as well as their future career.
