This paper has been prepared with the intention to analyse the objectives and function of the board of trustees in the higher education system of the country. With respect to materialization of these objectives, and taking into consideration the historical background of the higher education,s trustees before and after the Islamic Revolution, the auther deals with objectives, tasks and composition of the board of trustees. He, then, attempts to deal with and analyse the function of the board. Having familiarized the reader with the basic principles followed by the board of trustees, the auther analyses the executive problems and complexities of its conducts. The concluding part is allocated to drawing a conclusion and providing the reader with certain recommendations together with their application.
