The Quarterly Journal of Research and Planning in Higher Education is a scientific-research magazine that publishes articles resulting from original studies and research findings in fields related to higher education, such as higher education management, higher education planning, higher education evaluation, higher education and the labor market, curricula, economics and financial affairs of higher education, faculty members, students and alumni, quality, education and research, development planning, expansion of higher education, and more.

In 1992, the publication license of this quarterly was registered and issued by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance in both Persian and English as a scientific-research method. Also, the publication of this journal was approved in 1993 by the National Commission for the Evaluation of Scientific Journals at the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology. The first issue of the quarterly was published in the spring of 1994 and has been available for free open access since 2007. This quarterly contains applied and fundamental articles in the field of higher education in the country. It is noteworthy that this quarterly is one of the most important journals related to higher education and has a wide range of audiences, including university faculty members, research institutions, graduate students, and researchers.

According to the latest ranking of the Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC), the Quarterly Journal of Research and Planning in Higher Education has a Q2 quality rating and is also listed in the core journals of this database.
