Abstract
The aim of this study was to identify and explain the factors affecting the improvement of educational quality, with an emphasis on engineering and technical disciplines. The research method was an exploratory mixed method. The statistical population in the qualitative section consisted of articles related to educational quality, of which 34 articles were selected as the sample. The data collection tool in the qualitative section was a checklist. In the quantitative section, the statistical population included all 117 faculty members of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology at Shahid Bahonar University of Kerman, and the sample was selected using the census method. In the qualitative phase, 17 factors influencing the improvement of educational quality were identified, and their significance was confirmed by the participants in the quantitative phase. These factors were grouped into five dimensions: curriculum and teaching approaches, faculty empowerment, infrastructure and resources, connection with industry and the professional community, and evaluation and quality assurance. The Friedman test results showed that the dimensions of connection with industry and the professional community, curriculum and teaching approaches, and faculty empowerment received the highest rankings. According to the results of the study, it seems that strengthening the link between the university and industry and the professional community plays a key role in improving the quality of education and can lead to more practical curricula and the enhancement of students' real-world skills.
