Today's world has been a time of substantial social and economic changes, and eventually culture and education. Changes in education and culture are long term phenomena which must be considered in their social, political, economic and historical context. Educational and cultural phenomena can not be completely separated, they are interwoven. In elaboration of this interaction, this article has been shaped in the three main sections. The first section deals with the notion of culture and education. This is followed with the analysis of culture from anthropological perspective. The second section broadly reveals the concept of education from different perspectives. The final section oultines the principle of acculturalization in the process of changing society. This paper has been prepared at request of the Institute for Research and Planning in Higher Education for compiling a collection for Submitting to the 43rd session of International Conference of Education which was held on September 14-19, 1992 in Geneva, Swiss. This article was prepared by Dr. Ali Mohammad Kardan, Professor of Tehran University, for which we thank him.
