Abstract
This article reviews labour market policies in developed countries and compares. it with labour market policies oflran in the Third Development Plan to provide suitable policy making famework to face ever increasing unemployment in the country. Existing theories in the field, varying kind of unemployment and different policies of labour market in sixteen European and five non.European countries, including USA and Japan, are reviewed and compared with labour market policies of Iran in Third Developmeot Plan.
