Abstract
There is an increasing demand of practical skills among alumni in the competitive society. Closeness of education and occupation promotes employees, capacity and success at their work place. The aim of this study was to create a better understanding of the relationship between education and occupation, and productivity among Iranian psychology graduates or alumni. Doing this, a cross-sectional survey was conducted among 133 graduate students from government universities throughout the country, who were randomly selected. Findings indicate that 65 percent of the contributors in this survey were employed after completing their undergraduate study. A considerable proportion of them believe their education – occupation closeness is either high, or moderate. This situation enables them to use their knowledge in practice. It is concluded that (1) Iranian university graduates do their best in their occupational productivity, and (2) they bring in practice their essential talent and show significant practical skill in an appropriate work environment.
