The Comparison of Academic Achievement of Post- graduate Students Admitted through Faragir System with those Admitted through National Entrance Examination in Payam-e Noor University

Abstract
In order to compare the academic achievement of post- graduate students admitted to Faragir System with those through National Entrance Examination (NEE) at Payam-e Noor University, a questionnaire including 15 questions was prepared. The questionnaire was on the basis of factors such as:
- Individual factors (age, gender, marital status)
- Educational factors (academic course)
- Occupational factors (occupational status)
The necessary information has been collected from educational file of the students. The research population consists of 1172 students admitted through NEE at Tehran, Isfahan and Tabriz Payam-e Noor Universities and 253 students admitted in Faragir System. The sample has been chosen randomly from 233 students admitted through NEE and 115 students admitted through Faragir System. The collected information has been analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical methods with the use of SPSS software.
The findings in the present research indicate that the academic achievement of post- graduate students of Faragir System is more than NEE students and the married, employed, Humanities post- graduate students of Faragir System had more academic achievements than NEE. Furthermore, the results of this research show that there is no significant difference between the academic achievement of post – graduate students majoring in basic science and that of the unemployed (house keepers) single students at the same sector at both systems. Moreover, regarding variables of age and gender there is no significant difference between post- graduate students admitted at Faragir System and post- graduate students admitted through NEE system.
