Spatial I Regional Planning: A Guide for Higher Education Planning

This paper has embarked on describing spatial planning as a type of project which considers land as a determining factor in achieving development objectives. In spatial planning, determining different areas of the land is of basic importance, for the results obtained will be considered as the main data base for planning. In fact, spatial planning has a long term horizon which usually covers a period of 15 to 20 years. This plan draws a distinctive line between macro planning and the regiDnal plans; In other words, the spatial planning joins the regional plans to national planning. to describe and analyse spatial planning, the author first introduces the concepts and objectives of spatial planning; she, then describes the necessity for spatial planning, further describing the perspectives as well as the relationship between spatial planning and other plans. In the end underlines the major role of land, the importance of decision making in the creation of balance or imbalance and the status of social development in the spatial planning. Finally, taking these complexities of this type of plans, and describes the significance of the higher education activities in the spatial planning with regard to the introduction between the two. The conclusion is comprised of an analysis and a summary of studies made on spatial planning.
